Poulenc: La voix humaine

  • Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (map)

David Quigley piano
Mary McCabe soprano

Half a dialogue may not sound like promising material for the stage, but Poulenc’s La voix humaine (1958) is an extraordinarily intense work. Heard in the intimate version for singer and piano advocated by the composer, La voix humaine is a wonderful opera that speaks to anybody who has loved and lost.

Preceded by performances of Poulenc by RBC students.
